Living Waters Breast Cancer Assistance Program
Cancer care is challenging, and financial burdens make it even harder. Finding help with daily living expenses can be even more challenging especially if there is a loss of income due to the diagnosis and treatment.The Beautiful Gate Inc offers the Living Waters Breast Cancer Assistance Program to assist women who have been diagnosed with breast cancer, at any stage of disease in active treatment who are facing financial challenges by providing limited funds to assist with basic needs.
There is an approval process in which medical diagnosis from an oncologist, proof of residency and income qualifications are required. Applications are available on a first come, first-serve basis. Due to limited funding, a current and reliable list of reputable resources will also be provided to all applicants for additional financial assistance. This list of resources will also be given to callers/applicants when Living Waters Breast Cancer Assistance Program funding has reached its limit.
Eligibility Requirements
- Be in active treatment for Breast Cancer.
- Reside and receive treatment in the State of Florida (U.S. citizenship is not a requirement.)
- Have an income that falls at or below 200% of the Federal Poverty Level.
- Provide letter/statement of cancer diagnosis from physician.
Funds may be used for the following living expenses
- Upon landlord/lender verification partial assistance up to $500.00 can be awarded.
- Applicants that have been served with an eviction or foreclosure notice may not be eligible if these funds will not assist them in remaining in their home.
- However, funds may be used as a deposit on a new lease.
- Upon verification of pass due or shut off notice applicant will be awarded up to $250 to be paid directly to utility company
- Applicants receiving food assistance through SNAP are eligible for gift card up to $150 to cover personal items such as diapers, paper products, cleaning supplies, etc.
